Taking Care of Our
Communities

At CalSAWS, we come together for the good of our communities.

We join in through team volunteering events, annual charity drives, and donations.

Every hour and dollar spent goes directly to the organizations and people they serve.

We are proud to help others.

It is more than our job. It is our purpose.

Feeding America Fundraiser

CalSAWS partnered with Feeding America to raise funds to support food banks across the United States and Puerto Rico. California food banks, such as the Harvest Food Bank in Santa Cruz, receive funds from Feeding America, and we were so proud to have them benefit from our collective fundraising efforts. Each $1 donated supports 10 meals!

CalSAWS raised $1,000 for Feeding America... which translates to supporting 10,000 meals! â€‹â€‹â€‹

Thank you to ALL who contributed and shared the fundraiser with others!

Wish Star (Sacramento)
CalSAWS proudly participated in the Sacramento Children’s Wish Star program, providing holiday gifts and gift cards for children and families served by the Sacramento Children’s Home. Staff fulfilled children’s specific wish requests and helped support unfulfilled wishes and essential holiday needs. Through the generous donations of toys, clothing, monetary contributions, and gift cards, the CalSAWS team truly came together to make the season brighter. From gathering each child’s wish star to delivering the gifts to the Children’s Home, it truly took a village, and the impact reflects the caring hearts of our staff.
The CalSAWS team:
  • Supplied one or more gifts for all 50 children’s wishes.
  • More than $200 in Target gift card.
  • Raised nearly $700 in Visa Gift Cards and cash donations plus additional gifts such as toys, clothing, and coats.

A big THANK YOU to all the donors!

River City Food Bank (Northern CA)

The River City Food Bank helps people avoid crisis and work toward self-reliance by providing short-term food supply when they are unable to meet basic living expenses.  â€‹During November, the CalSAWS team collected food items. We are so proud of how we came together to not just fill one donation barrel but an extra table full of food for those in need.  It took two car loads and seven wagon trips to take it all in. Thank you to all who donated!

Evergreen Givers

Evergreen giving is about giving consistently throughout the year to keep support flowing. It helps organizations plan and sustain their ability to support the community. Once you get inspired, there are ways to keep giving back on your own or with friends.  Here are some ideas:

  • Small Monthly Donations - You can set up autopay to give $5, $10, $20, or more monthly to charitable organizations of your choice.

  • Pick Times Weekly or Monthly to Volunteer - Scheduling times in advance can make it part of your regular routine instead of a good idea that might be scheduled over by other events.

  • Grocery Store Giving - Many stores offer the option to add money to donate towards a cause or the purchase of a bag of groceries.  Giving regularly keeps the giving flowing to those in need.
